If you are walking the Cinque Terre, then Levanto is the ideal location. You get the train travel at a reduced price as you are just inside the region, the trains are quite regular and quick. Its handy if you want to go further up the coast to Portofino or down the coast to Pisa and beyond.
Its a proper town, so has all the things you need (supermarket, pharmacies etc) unlike the actual Cinque Terre towns which are crowed with day tourists and mostly cater to their needs.
We had a great stay here, lots of choice in restaurants would be more than happy to return if we had the time.

We chose Levanto because we wanted lodging to be in a relatively flat area but as close to the Cinque Terre cities as possible. The town itself is charming with lots of restaurant options. The people we met were friendly and helpful. Given the 5 cities of Cinque Terre, we allowed ourselves 5 nights and 4 full days - probably a day or 2 too long. It was easy to use the hop-on, hop-off boat and get a great view of the cities from the water. Travel to those cities by train was easy but crowded in mid September.

A beautiful walkable city with a beautiful beach and easy access to sunset boat tours and Cinque Terre via train. I recommend Wine at Cantina Dei 1000, sunset boat tour with Costa di Faraggiana, and dinner at Le Due Lune.
One word: Chiara! She was the best concierge I have ever dealt with in my 50+ years. She took the time to explain things we didn't even think of! She got us beach and dinner reservations but also pointed us to off the beaten path experiences. She upgraded us to a suite for no reason, which simply gave us more space to enjoy our trip! Excellent breakfast in a lovely dining room! Levanto is very walkable and has much to see and do. We parked the car and left it for three days and walked everywhere and took the train to Cinque Terre.
Levanto is a wonderful location. By itself, it is a delightful beach community which has an active town area and charmingly pleasant. It is also a good base for exploring Cinque Terra which is a gong show. A Durmi was well located in town, but quiet with a great outdoor patio. Best of all, though are the owners. These delightful women were so helpful about where to go, what to see, where to eat and even how to fix a cel phone. They made our stay with them one of our best in Italy.
Lovely hotel with even lovelier staff. ! I stayed with my sister in June and Alberto and Fabiana were so helpful with restaurant and excursion bookings. The breakfast staff went above and beyond and made sure we never ran low on tea or coffee, in particular Francesa was fantastic and made us a packed breakfast for our early train journey on our last day! Would highly recommend this hotel in beautiful Levanto. Great base to explore Cinque Terre out of the busy towns.
Excellent stay! We had a lot of luggage and a bigger car and the parking was easy and just up the road. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was lovely. We spent a lot of time by the pool and it was so relaxing. The train station to visit cinque terre was 10 minutes down the road in Levanto and they provided us with a parking pass which was very helpful. This is the best bed & breakfast I personally have ever stayed in!
We are a couple from France and we were both very happy for the food. The little resto is a must try. The food was so good! They offered a lot of home made food . The staff are very nice and gentle, they are very helpful for everything. The parking is big, and u have a free private parking in hotel, which is a luxe in Levanto. We will come back as I told them. Next time I will bring my parents to visit again.
The property is breathtaking. The staff make you feel like family. The breakfast and dinner they served us was the best we had in italy. We booked on a whim because we were not happy with our hotel accommodations elsewhere. We loved the place so much that we stayed an extra night! The staff was very helpful and accommodating, especially Gretta. She went above and beyond. We hope to come back one day!
From the moment we arrived until we checked out the service was so focused on our enjoyment. They provided a 30 minute sit when we arrived to make sure we had maps or directions to everything we wanted to see or so during our stay. Food recommendations, providing beach towels, fantastic Terrace!
Best place to stay if you are visiting Cinque Terre. Levanto is a gem!
The view from the terrace is stunning! There is also a lot of space, each room is large and got direct access to the terrace. It looks even better than on the pictures. Also next to the city center and beach. Levanto is a good spot to visit the 5 Cinque terre at your own pace (either by train or you can start with a 2h30 walk to Monterosso).
The hotel is in a great location in the centre of Levanto. Our booking included breakfast which was served at the cafe next door and consisted of cereal with yoghurt, a hot and cold drink, and a choice of a croissant or other pastry. Good communication with the host, and we were able to check in early.
the host was so responsive. we have all the equipments. so close to every where. walking distance to train. close enough to cinque terre and at the same time it’s good that it’s not as crowded as the five villages. close to good Gelato.
the apartment was so clean and you feel like home
All the staff were courteous and friendly. The property is a beautiful garden, three levels with a spectacular view. Elevator for this who need one. The rooms beautifully decorated, lovely comfortable beds and large bathroom in our suite. The breakfast was the best I’ve had in Italy.
This was possibly the most gorgeous place we stayed in Italy, we decided on a farm stay to break up the typical hotels and it was quaint and quiet with the most spectacular view!! Nice space, comfy bed, and great terrace. Breakfast was seriously delicious too.
Lovely hotel. Comfortable and clean. Helpful staff. Absolute value for money. Walking distance to train station and to main/centre of Levanto. Not as busy as main Cinque Tera towns.
Lovely, fully equipped apartment.
Owners were welcoming and helpful.
Perfect setting off point to see the Cinque Terre. Restaurants and supermarkets in Levanto are reasonably priced.
Great location in beautiful Levanto. A very nice, private apartment with great view and a pool. We had one of our best stays in Italy thanks to our kind and generous host Raffaella.
One of the most memorable stays we had in Italy.
The rooms are modern, the view spectacular, and the breakfast incredible.
Great communication from the hotel on every aspect!
The accomodations is located in short distance to Cinque Terre trails. It is very quite place on the slope , charming and comfortable.
