Riomaggiore is quintessential Cinque Terre. It is rugged and beautiful. It is a colorful, bustling fishing village full of friendly people and yummy restaurants, bars, bakeries, little shops, art galleries, etc. And it wasn't as overrun as Vernazza. We stayed on the harbor which I highly recommend. We took a sunset cruise that left steps from our accommodations. After visiting all the towns, it was my favorite, by far.

Riomaggiore was a lovely village to stay in.
Riomaggiore was a lovely village to stay in. I am sure all the towns in Cinque Terre are lovely to stay in. One needs to be a bit in shape to do the hiking or even ride the trains but is an adventure not to be missed! The scenery is spectacular.

Wonderful historic town and the trek options between the towns are a treat. The train also makes it so easy to travel to all the towns. We also did a boat trip from Levanto to see Cinque Terra from the beautiful blue sea. Just lovely, a real highlight. There are also lots of choices of places to eat that seemed quite economical.

It’s hard to know which town to stay in, but we were not disappointed. I would definitely chose this town again to stay in Cinque Terra. Sunsets are the best. Atmosphere is fantastic. There is a great rocky beach to swim from, exploring water caves etc. Colours are sensational and great reasonable food choices. You can walk everywhere, but make sure you stay by the water!

The Cinque Terre is a must see place, you do need to have a good pair of legs as it is all about walking and some places a very steep. Riomaggiore is a beautiful place and although small is worth exploring. The best Troffie was served at the trattoria near the station as was all their food, homemade excellence. A train pass will take you to all the other towns very quickly.

I think if you can bear the huge influx of tourists during the day Riomaggiore is a lovely place to stay. But never go in July-August. Mid September the weather was the best as the water was still warm. Great places to swim off the rocks and the sunsets are spectacular. Good for take away food-wine to eat-drink on your terrace. We didn’t eat in restaurants as our terrace had a great view (expensive but worth the view). Very steep steps so wear trainers. We kayaked for 2 hours from Riomaggiore-Corniglia, a great way to see the coastline. We also booked a guide through booking.com to take us around the villages and let us taste some local foods and wines. Very informative and entertaining. Very easy to get around on trains so book a two day pass. We also did a winetasting in an amazingly photogenic bar-restaurant called Bar e Vini a Pie de Ma on a terrace on a cliff above Riomaggiore station, great food too especially the Bruschette. Most of the coastal walks are closed so you have to walk the long way over the hills. Extremely strenuous if you are not a fit walker, we did Riomaggiore-Manarolo, 1 hour up very steep steps, 45min down. We took the train back. Wouldn’t do that again…. Not worth doing Via Dell’ Amore as it is only 200 mt, as the rest is under construction and you need to pay for it. Interesting to see it being reconstructed with the aid of a helicopter. Stunning place but be aware that there will be crowds.
The host provided us with the code for the lockbox before we arrived. They also provided amazing step-by-step instructions on how to find the apartment from the train station, including a video! Note that for the included breakfast, you need to go to their restaurant near the train station. The host was also amazing at keeping us up-to-date with the weather and notified us when the town may be closed the following day due to the storm that was coming to Cinque Terre. This helped us ensure we had groceries for the next day.
We had the best host every, friendly with a lot of advise that helped us to make the best of our 3 days in the Cinque Terre area. She gave us links to great restaurant spots for Breakfast, Lunch and dinner. She also equipped us with all the information we needed to make the best of our stay. Train tickets, Ferry tickets and WIFI Codes. Anna Michielini is 5min walk from the train station & easy to find. I would highly recommend a stay here.
The room was spacious, clean and located very convenient for us who travelled by train. Even though the accommodation is placed on the upper parts of Riomaggiore it was easy to bring heavy luggage thanks to the public elevators.
Paula was very kind and service minded for example she gave us cava and some breakfast even though it wasn’t included.
I highly recommend this place if you want to experience Cinque terre!
The perfect spot from which to explore the Cinque Terre. Riomaggiore is a great town to stay in and Le Case Diamar is well located, clean, modern and really comfortable. Communications with Diana are easy and straightforward and lots of the little details have been carefully thought about (like separate bins for different types of rubbish). Highly recommend this for a few nights in the Cinque Terre.
Beautiful location, incredibly kind and helpful staff. It was a pleasure having breakfast served on the balcony each morning, with the helpful staff remembering our coffee order. Room was really comfortable and spacious for two people. I will note that Cinque Terre can be difficult to navigate, as this Hotel is at the top of a hill if you have mobility issues you may struggle to get to and from.
In my opinion, this was the best place and city to stay in if you are visiting Cinque Terre! The location of this property is right in the marina in riomaggiore! Only a 10 minute walk to the train station and 5 minute walk to the beach! The room was clean and very spacious! Even though you are right in the marina the room is quiet and we had no issues with noise. A must stay in riomaggiore!!!
Location was great, and the view was amazing. We stayed for two nights with 2 adults and 2 teenaged daughters. We loved the town of Riomaggiore and having a glass of wine on the balcony. Apartment was spacious with modern furnishings and very clean. Easy to walk into town or over to train station to explore the other towns of Cinque Terre. Host was good at communication.
This is the best hotel with the best views and best ever breakfast in Riomaggiore, the very best of the five villages. My daughter and I enjoyed every minute of our 4-night stay. The outdoor spaces and gardens are gorgeous, the family owners are so kind, and the place very is peaceful. You can see the length of the village all the way to the sea.
Lovely view, even from the ground floor room. Gianluca was fast and easy to contact regarding check-in and very flexible overall.
Room itself was clean, quite spacious for 2 person with a queen-sized bed comfortable for sleeping.
Good location in Riomaggiore.
Overall worth the price and loved the stay in this lovely Cinque Terre village.
The person that welcomed us was really kind. The room was perfect for our needs, really clean and with a great view. We felt like staying in Riomaggiore over a bigger town like La Spezia was really part of the experience in Cinque Terre. We loved the proximity of the room with the restaurants, the marina and the train station.
The hotel has the best location and everything is near to you: centre, beach, station, info point etc.
Also the view is amazing and the Host Andrea is the kindest person always ready to help and assist you.
In the evening you would be able to enjoy the great view of Riomaggiore.
It's the place for best memories.
Great location, up high and away from the action. Beautiful view from the balcony! Very clean and modern for a Cinque Terre stay. Breakfast on site from the host was amazing before a long day of sightseeing. Host was very friendly, helpful and provided tons of information of the area.
This was the absolute best place to stay in Cinque Terre, and my cousin and I were so happy with the property! The room was the perfect size, so clean, and in a great location. I am so happy with this stay and when I come back to Cinque Terre I will definitely stay here!
Great location with a view over the town, within walking distance but still away from the masses! Davide and his family are very caring, looking after one and fullfilling every possible wish! Organic breakfast, with local ingredients.
Best stay in Cinque Terre !!!
location - with the use of elevators, the main street and beach are easily accessible, breath taking views from the area, part of the sea can be seen from the window, facilities are complete, cozy place to stay while enjoying cinque terre, very accommodating hosts.
Martha was an amazing host. She met us at the train station to escort us to the room. Martha gave us the run down on Cinque Terre to-dos and was able to make dining reservations or bookings for activities for us. Perfect position in town, clean respectable room.
